Russian River Valley Vineyard Estate

Graton, California

Sited among working vineyard rows near the Russian River Valley, this property paired a new addition to the existing residence with a full reworking of the surrounding landscape. A planting palette suited to both deer and drought carries through the site, from a resculpted, lavender-lined entry drive to locally sourced non-fruiting olives.

A wisteria-clad arbor marks the entry to the sauna area, framing a view toward the apple orchard, where new fruit trees and nearby non-fruiting crab apples extend the agricultural planting. The cedar sauna sits on a new composite wood deck with a cast concrete water feature, a quiet counterpoint to the outdoor kitchen nearby, framed by a timber pavilion and built around a wood-fired oven and full grill line.

New flagstone paths run throughout the property, and new landscape lighting, layered and terrace by terrace, extends the garden into evening and ties the new work to the existing pool terrace, now replanted and refurnished to match.
